I have a confession. I’m a Photoshop® wannabe. In case you don’t know it, Photoshop® is the premier software program for digital photography. It has more features to tweak, enhance, and distort photographic images than you can imagine. As much as I’d like to master this program, truth be known, I’m still very much a beginner.

However, I’ve taken some Photoshop® classes and my instructor used little sayings to help his students remember certain Photoshop® tricks and applications. My favorite saying is, “If it’s not selected, then it’s not affected.?

Discern between accepting and settling. Accept what you cannot change, but never settle for anything below your standards.

When you settle for less than your standards, you allow yourself to lose integrity and you lose a piece of yourself every time. Simple math tells you that the more you’re not in integrity, the more you lose. Being out of integrity is very similar to your spine being out of its healthy alignment, or the alignment of your car being out of its proper settings. In either case, you (or your car) aren’t going to be able to operate at the optimum level when lacking integrity.

Live according to your purpose, and you’ll discover a natural passion for life; and within that, you’ll feel a great deal of personal power. If you want to feel totally empowered, learn who you are and be 100% of you 100% of the time!

You may need to do some soul-searching and uncovering in order to discover your true self and determine your bigger connection in life. All this requires is a willingness to become more aware, to heal and/or regain yourself, and claim your greatness. You must decide whether or not you want to be empowered by making choices and changes according to your vision and purpose, or if you just want to take chances and go blindly into life hoping you might run into something that makes you feel complete. Choice or chance?which do you choose?

What do you fear, and how real are your fears? The most common fears I see and hear from clients (and others!!) include the fear of rejection, the fear of failure, the fear of change and - believe it or not - the fear of success. As real as these fears may seem, most of them are only imaginary (not real) and totally made-up (fantasy).

I like to refer to these made-up scenarios as stories. Part of our humanness includes an amazing ability to make up stories and assumptions, and then to believe them and fabricate some F.E.A.R.: Fictitious Events Appearing Real.

“Give us clear vision that we may know where to stand and what to stand for - because unless we stand for something we shall fall for anything.?
~ Peter Marshall

Vision gives your life a target. That target represents everything you want to do, be, and have in your life. In other words, it’s everything that’s possible. When you live according to what’s possible, you’ll achieve your highest greatness, be prosperous beyond your wildest dreams and you’ll also have the highest possible positive impact on humankind.

You need to have a really HUGE vision.

If you aren’t living your life on purpose, then you must be living it accidentally. People who live accidentally ALWAYS end up settling for less than satisfactory lives. So how about living your life with purpose and on purpose? Besides, you’ll sleep better at night knowing just who the person is you’re sleeping with every night. In other words, you’ll know yourself thoroughly and intimately.

Your Personal Compass and a Life of Purpose

Life has targets and distractions. The clearer you are about what and where your targets are, the better shot you have at hitting them. Likewise, the sharper your awareness of any distractions in or around your life, the easier it is to avoid them.

What is Your Dharma?

Living your life on purpose allows your personal compass to direct you toward fulfilling your life purpose. When you’re on your intended path, you’re in dharma, which is an old Sanskrit word which Webster’s Dictionary defines as: an individual’s duty fulfilled by observance of custom or law; the basic principles of cosmic or individual existence; conformity to one’s duty and nature.

Your Dharma is what you were born to be.

Learning is a
lifelong process. While many of us couldn’t wait for the day we
graduated from high school or college, we soon learned that was just
the beginning. There are always new skills to master, whether it’s
improving your golf or tennis game or learning how to scrapbook.

Books can only get
you so far. The static photos and long lists of instructions can get
pretty laborious after a while. For most, it’s far better to
have instruction from a real person who can give you feedback and
help you improve your skills.

There are two reasons why goals fail or we give up trying to achieve a specific goal. When I first learnt this, I knew I finally found the Holy Grail of goal achievement. The first reason is the “Brick Wall?. The second reason is referred to as the “Unrecognised Goal?.
